From the Main Screen - File Menu select Estimating
> New Estimate.
When this form loads you will be prompted to enter a Customers Name. If
this is your first time using Estimating then
you will need to add a customer to your database.
Select > Add
New Customer to add a new customer. Otherwise, simply begin typing in your
customer's name and an auto-text-search will display names that match your typing.
(The Return/Enter key is used to select
data & to end data entry in all fields of all forms.)
The Date & JobId are added automatically and you advance to Job
Name-Location. This field is used for Proposals&
Time & Material Billing, as is Job Description.
(The Return/Enter key is used to end data
entry & advance to the next section.).
From there you are advanced to the Materials Selection button. Clicking this
button will open the Materials Selection Form. The
name of the DataSource is
shown at the top of the Selection Window. This is where you select materials for your
Simply point & click to select materials,
which will automatically be placed into the estimate you are working on.
Continue selecting items and when you are done either Click
> Estimate View or Right-Click and
select Return To Estimate View from the pop-up
When you return to the estimate view you will be allowed to edit descriptions, change
pricing & costs, & enter quantities.
Totals for Materials, Labor, & if used, Taxes, are automatically calculated and
displayed on the bottom of the form. You can print a Materials Summary Report, View
An Estimate Summary, print a Proposal, or transfer the estimate to Invoicing with
Time & Material Billing.
